Why you can check our work.

6,785
primary sources cited

Figures come from the body that defines them — the IRS, the MLB rulebook, IETF RFCs, NIST — not from other calculator sites. Every citation is checked to contain the figure attributed to it.

1,560
worked examples

One per calculator, computed by hand before the code was written, so you can check the tool against the arithmetic rather than taking its word for it.

0
invented constants

When a required figure is proprietary or unpublished, we narrow the calculator and say so on the page — or we do not publish it. Several planned calculators were dropped for exactly this reason.

Common questions.

Are Quanta calculators free?
Yes. All 1,560 calculators are free to use with no account and no usage limit. A free account adds saved calculations. Nothing is behind payment today.
Where do the formulas come from?
From the organisation that defines them. Tax figures come from the IRS, sports statistics from each league's own rulebook or stat glossary, network calculations from IETF RFCs, camera exposure from CIPA, password entropy from NIST, food safety from USDA and FDA. Across the catalog that is 6,785 citations, and every URL is checked to contain the figure attributed to it before the page ships.
How do I know a result is right?
Each page prints the formula it uses with its symbols explained, and works through a real example by hand. If you disagree with a result, the page gives you enough to find out which of us is wrong — and if it is us, tell us at hello@quantacalculator.com.
How current are the figures?
Pages carrying figures that change — tax rates, contribution limits, governing-body formulas — state the year or revision they implement and the date they were last reviewed. When a rate changes mid-year, as the IRS mileage rate did on 1 July 2026, the page is updated and the new period is selectable.
Do you use AI to write the calculators?
Yes, as a research and drafting tool, under a review process that requires a primary source for every figure and a hand-computed worked example before anything ships. The process is also allowed to refuse: where a required constant is proprietary or unpublished, the calculator is narrowed or not published at all. Several planned pages were dropped for that reason rather than shipped with a plausible guess.
Can I rely on these for financial or medical decisions?
No — treat them as a starting point. A calculator shows a formula and a result; interpreting either against your own circumstances is a conversation for a qualified professional. Pages covering money, health and safety say so explicitly and name the guideline they follow.
Can I embed a Quanta calculator on my site?
Calculators marked as embeddable can be embedded with attribution. For anything broader, get in touch at hello@quantacalculator.com.
